I met Jared through one of my best friends. First love, first everything. We went to a Dave Mathews concert in a limo once. It was about 12 of us, and we felt like royalty. On the way home we were the only two awake. Just me and him and our hands.

Then I watched my sister get married. I told Jared that if we were still together when my sister got married, then I wanted him to propose at the reception. Instead we played on the dance floor and watched my parents give their first little girl away.

First heartbreak.

I fell out of love soon after. I wanted to make myself love him, only him, but it faded, as did we.

I still miss him.
