“'We all know everyone makes mistakes."

Being a shore girl, I lived on the beach my whole life. The sand, the waves, the sexy lifeguards, the tans…there is nothing more a girl could ask for.

One of my friends had her own house on the water, and we used to throw huge parties all the time. I remember one 4th of July that got out of hand.

My best friend lived right down the street from the girl that was throwing the party, so we coordinated the whole thing. We got margarita machines, wine, kegs, beer, alcohol, and an ice block for the liquor log.

I got the best prize of all. I got the pleasure of walking away with a bagful of empty hypodermic needles. She kept them for a friend in her attic because they were selling them to some idiots using steroids. She didn’t want to get caught by the cops with them if the party got busted so she begged me to take them.

I did.

We all know everyone makes mistakes. At least I know that the "Say No to Drugs" sign in my high school locker room did me wrong just once in my life. I'm not perfect.
